I recently saw the movie Capote starring the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman. The movie focuses on the writing of the book, “In Cold Blood”. The book is about he murder of the Clutter family on their farm in Holcomb, KS in 1959. The intense emotional relationship between Capote and Perry Smith, one of the killers, is emphasized in the movie. I had to find their charts and see the relationships between the bodies in them. I was not disappointed.

Truman Capote has the Moon near Saturn in early Scorpio. If the topic of intense emotion, attack, and gory murder comes up, it would come under the umbrella of the sign, Scorpio. Perry Smith had an early Scorpio Sun. Sun Moon connections between charts in the sign, Scorpio are deep and intense. Although we could add the fact that Capote has a Libra Sun and Perry’s Mercury is in Libra, and that Venus on Perry’s Ascendant gives him charm and artistic talent, nothing else really has to be said.

Harper Lee, author of “To Kill a Mockingbird” was a long term friend of Truman and grew up near him. Dill in her book is patterned after Capote as a child. She also has the Moon near Saturn in Scorpio. She was somewhat involved in Truman’s pursuit of the facts and feelings of the murder. More importantly, this is a strong soul to soul connection between Lee and Capote. Lee has a Libra Ascendant in the same sign as Truman’s Sun and and her Mars and Jupiter associate with his Aquarius Mars and Ascendant.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Capote, has Mars in early Scorpio, connecting with Capote’s Moon and Saturn. His Sun squares the Scorpio placements. His Moon in Aquarius communicates with Truman’s Ascendant and Mars.

Richard Hancock, the partner of Perry, who got little attention from Capote had a late Aquarius Moon but no bodies in Libra or Scorpio.

Shared bodies in Scorpio within our group show emotional connections and bring in the horror of the murders. The bodies in Libra and Aquarius show the various individuals involved in the public conversation in the country which has an Aquarius Moon.

Incidentally, the murder happened under a Full Moon in Taurus. Neptune, Mars, and the Sun were in Scorpio. And Neptune was in Scorpio for the 6 years that Capote was working on “In Cold Blood” and continuing to talk with Perry.
